On the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, CNN will replay 9/11 news coverage online to promote its pay broadband news service.
CNN's Pipeline live online news feed service will replay - online - the cable news channel's entire coverage of 9/11 events online, reports Red Herring. Footage will be streamed exactly as it did in 2001, starting at 8:30 a.m. E.T., and last until midnight. The coverage will be provided free; Pipeline costs $2.95 per month, or $24.95 a year.
Optional coverage, as part of the day's package of feeds, will include live memorial services and commentary on the events. The additional 9/11 coverage includes CNN Exchange, a site where users can upload video, photos, and written commentary - specifically on how life has changed since the 2001 attacks.
