CNBC, FT Could Be Looking to Share Content

If rumors turn out to be true, CNBC and The Financial Times could be moving toward a content-sharing deal, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The deal would likely consist of CNBC sharing videos with the FT's website and The Financial Times allowing CNBC to republish its articles on the CNBC site. The idea came about after a plan for the pair to jointly buy Dow Jones fell through over fears they couldn't outbid Rupert Murdoch and News Corp.

CNBC could also be planning for the future, since it now gets business news provided by The Wall Street Journal, which is owned by Dow Jones. If Murdoch is successful in his pursuits it would likely end that arrangement.

News Corp is planning the launch of Fox Business Channel on October 15th of this year.
