SearchEngineLowdown: Cost Per Click on the Rise
Commenting on a chart appearing on BatelleMedia, SearchEngineLowdown notes that advertisers are starting to place higher bids on longer search phrases. The search blog notes that advertisers are either discovering that longer phrases convert better or they're just seeking the inventory where there remain cheaper clicks. Or both. In the year ending in March, one-word keywords saw small click price increases, two-word phrases doubled, and three-plus word phrases went up by a factor of 15.
