Fight the fire

A report from Click Forensics finds click fraud rates have grown to 28 percent, reports SeekingAlpha.

Click Forensics examined PPC campaigns from 4,000 advertisers in multiple industries. The report found 28.3 percent of pay-per-click dollars wind were lost to click fraud in Q4 of 2007, up from the 19.2 percent in 2006.

The figure is derived from PPC ads that appear on content networks like Google AdSense and Yahoo's Publisher Network.

The industry suffers an average 16.6 percent click fraud rate, up from 14.2 percent in the last quarter of 2006.

Countries like India, Germany and South Korea are increasingly the source of fraudulent clicks.
