Circuit City Drops Amazon as E-tail Partner

Circuit City, coming off of a poor holiday quarter, announced that as of today it would handle its own e-commerce efforts, according to E-commerce Times. For the last four years, Circuit City fulfilled orders on Amazon's electronics store. But ""Circuitcity.com has grown tremendously since August 2001," said the electronic firm's president of its direct unit. "We have been pleased with customer response to our own Web site and have elected to focus on growing the business through our own channel, rather than focus on the small amount of sales the relationship with Amazon.com has generated."
