Chinese authorities have shut down 50 or so websites for carrying pornographic or violent content or for offering pirated movies or online games, the government announced Thursday, the Associated Press reports (via paidContent). Also, two people were detained for running a pirated version of a game made by Chinese online game giant Shanda, according to the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
