Beijing has shut down an online discussion forum because it reported on anti-corruption protests in Taishi, a village in the country's south, as well as a website for ethnic Mongolians for hosting separatist content, the AP reports. Radio Free Asia, a U.S. government-supported broadcaster said the online forum had been popular among academics, journalists and rights activists. The Taishi protest was one in a series by villagers around China to bring attention to various issues, such as pollution, corruption and illegal land seizures.
