Charles Schwab and Chrysler are sponsoring online readers' trial free access to the Wall-Street Journal's digital edition.
Charles Schwab sponsored the site's "Open House" on Tuesday, and Chrysler will have sole sponsorship of the site's Markets Data Center until next Tuesday, ClickZ reports.
Schwab's sponsorship used its "Talk to Chuck" slogan to promote its Mutual Fund OneSource product on an introductory page leading to the free journal site. The Markets Data Center section showcases a Chrysler logo, and large banner ads for the week's exclusive sponsor will run throughout the area's inner pages.
The sponsorships are an attempt by the Wall-Street Journal to increase interest in the digital version of the paper, as online ad revenue is showing solid growth compared with print ad revs.
