Cellular South Digitizes Retail Store

Digital update

Cellular South is updating its Ridgeland, MS retail store to push web offerings in an effort to emphasize its updated business strategy, reports DM News.

The new store is designed to mirror the layout of the website. There will be a total of 26 computer terminals, and 23 employees will guide customers through the process of using the company's website, which was also given a facelift.

Ultimately Cellular strives to become entirely self-service "because customers that have the ability to do this tend to be happier," Jim Richmond, Cellular's corporate communications director, told DM News.

Cellular named Huge Inc. its interactive agency of choice. Huge will handle search engine marketing, display advertising and CRM. Martin-Williams will continue to handle offline advertising.

Cellular competes with several big carriers in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida, and is making the update to stay competitive. A recent Consumer Report survey found that major carriers score low in terms of customer satisfaction.
