Cell phones Overtake Landlines in Canada

"Mom, what's that?"

Cell phones will soon surpass the number of landlines in the maple leaf country. In Canada, landlines tied wireless subscribers at 18 million at the end of 2006, reports Globe and Mail.

While wireless revenue grew 16.2 percent in the country, landline revenue dropped 24 percent.

Cell phone use in Canada is lower than in other countries.
