Clear Channel has partnered with Reuters to have the news service provide news and video content to its sites for news-on-demand service.
Reuters would provide content to 200 Clear Channel sites featuring a news on-demand service that combines Reuters video and text feeds with CC's existing news coverage from its network of local stations, MediaWeek reports.
Clear Channel will pay a license fee to Reuters for the content and retains all of the advertising, allowing station websites to customize advertising opportunities for local and national advertisers. Advertisers will be able to buy 5- and 15-second pre-roll ads in the video segments.
"The primary focus of this product is for News-Talk-Sports, but there are lifestyle and entertainment segments we can use with our music station websites," said Evan Harrison, EVP of CC's online radio division in announcing the alliance.
