CBS SportsLine.com Offers Video, TV Content

CBS Digital Media has updated its SportsLine.com site to closely integrate video content from its TV properties, providing more video advertising opportunitie, ClickZ reports. SportsLine is now featuring "TheEyebox," a video window that plays on-demand clips, which will give CBS more opportunities to sell :15 pre-roll ads that advertisers have reportedly been requesting, and other rich media ad units later.

"This is the second phase of our plan to re-launch all of our websites as broadband channels," Larry Kramer, president of CBS Digital Media, said on a conference call Thursday afternoon. The move is part of CBS's plan to bypass cable and go straight to the Net.

Nike has signed on as an exclusive sponsor of the site at launch. Other advertisers include BlackBerry, Visa, Volkswagen, Geico, Subway, CDW and UPS.

Many of the original CBS SportsLine shows will be available to users via podcast. It will also produce original video to complement its popular fantasy football games. The site will also add user-generated content - blogs that provide color commentary on live sporting events. CBS has dubbed these live game logs "glogs."
