CBS Online Show Jumps to Broadcast TV

While many networks are beginning to air some of their shows online, CBS (and Fox, sort of) is taking a show that had been available online first - and airing it on broadcast television.

CBS will show a compilation episode from its online series Inturn, and fans of Fox's series The O.C. will get to see the season premiere online a week before it makes its debut on the small screen, CNET reports. Twenty-four episodes of the reality series Inturn have been streamed on CBS's broadband channel Innertube.

Inturn follows eight would-be actors fighting for a role on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. When the compilation episode of Inturn is shown on broadcast TV on Nov. 24, it will mark the first time a CBS series created especially for an online audience is shown on broadcast television.

Fox's The O.C. will have its fourth season premiere debut online first at both MySpace, and MyFoxLocal websites. The second episode of the fourth season will also debut online first, with both episodes available on Fox On Demand.
