CBS is offering up condensed versions of all 63 games from the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament via Apple's iTunes Music Store for $1.99 each, and full-length versions of the semifinal and championship game, writes MediaWeek. Apple is also offering a season pass that allows for the purchase of all 63 games for $19.99.
The distribution deal with CBS - which also is putting some of its prime time shows for sale on Google Video - is part of Apple's continued expansion into video, writes the Mercury News.
With the NCAA tournament, CNET points out that iTunes will face competition not only from traditional TV broadcasts but also from other online sources. CBS previously announced plans to stream many of the basketball games for free on the web.
