Though podcasting doesn't yet command hefty amounts of advertising, CBS is adding segments of its most prestigious show, 60 Minutes, to its list of podcasts available for download on its website, writes MediaPost (via MediaBuyerPlanner). Available podcasts include a variety of content, from Face the Nation excerpts to the CBS Radio show Larry Magid's Tech Report. The addition of 60 Minute shows the network's confidence in the medium: Betsy Morgan, senior VP of CBS Digital Media and general manager of CBSNews.com, claims the increased amount of available content will speed monetization. "2006 will really be the year for podcasts," she said.
