CBS shares local love
CBS is rolling out the CBS Local Ad Network, aimed at blogs that provide local coverage in areas with a CBS owned-and-operated TV station.
Publishers in the network place a widget, which displays updates from CBS News, on their sites. Ads sold by CBS run within the widget; publishers get a cut of the profit.
The CBS Local Ad Network is active in about half of CBS' owned-and-operated markets, including Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth and Boston. Remaining markets will be included in coming weeks.
Ads shall vary by market: AT&T, for example, may run spots in Chicago and Los Angeles, while Liberty Mutual targets readers in Boston.
