CBS announced the launch of its own video distribution network via partnerships with other online publishers, reports CNET.
CBS will share content with Brightcove, Joost, Sling Media, AOL and others and will host a variety of programming. Shows such as CSI, Survivor and CBS Evening News with Katie Couric will be available for free, with ad support. The partnership with Sling Media will allow users to share videos through Slingbox.
Users will be able to not only view clips and full-length videos but also share them with others.
None of the deals is exclusive, CBS said.
