Search Behavior Indicates Consumer Inclinations

Search activity is becoming a bellwether of consumer moods, according to data from Hitwise, writes DM News. Searches on the terms "real estate bubble" and "housing bubble," for example, climbed to a 12-month high for the week ending May 28 according to Hitwise. Real Estate Online Adspend to Grow by More than Half in 2005

Borrell Associates estimates that real estate ad spending on the internet alone will grow to about $1.8 billion in 2005. Domain Transactions Showing Stiff Returns

Domain name market firm Zetetic released a study last week indicating that domain names are selling briskly and at sometimes at heady prices. A review of 8,000 transactions since 1996 showed that the average domain name returned almost four times the original purchase price after an average of 12.5 months. Borrell: Real Estate Is Major Net Ad Growth Engine
