To narrow down your selection of articles, click on the "AND" or "NOT" next to any of the categories below. Say you’re currently browsing entries in category "A", you can then drill down into entries that belong both to category A and another category, or belong to category A but not another category. For instance, you could list entries about demographics in the automotive sector, or entries about email marketing that are not about spam. Numbers in the columns below indicate how many entries the selected operation will narrow your query to. You can combine multiple intersection and exclusion criteria to further limit the number of entries.

Palm Gets One-Upped By Customer's Ad
It is hard not to pity Palm these days: the company is projecting very poor sales for its upcoming quarter and analysts have abandoned any pretense of liking the stock. Worst, Palm’s attempts to reconnect with its customers - arguably it's main problem - have been overshadowed by a head-turning ad created by Palm aficionado Heiko Thies.
The ad, writes Wired, "manages to be both exciting and s [...]

Bigger budgets, the ability to better research products and more discounts are some of the reasons why consumers are shopping online this year - reasons that have translated into a 4% increase in holiday e-commerce spending.
Six weeks into the 2009 holiday shopping season, e-commerce holiday sales are tracking one percentage point higher than a 3% increase comScore had previously forecast. So far, U.S. consumers spent $20.7 billion, a 4% increase from $20 billion U.S. consumers spent online d [...]

Beyond Mobile Coupons: Integrated Payments on the Horizon
Mobile coupons are a booming online marketing category right now. Unfortunately, using them is not a seamless transaction as most consumers still cannot pay for the discounted product using their smartphone.
New tech is starting to come to market, though, that promises to fill in that gap. For the most part applications that integrate the mobile coupon with the payment piece are only available on a limited basis to a small subset of an already small user group.
However as they become main [...]

Online Retailers Tackle Sales-Tax Hurdles
Sales taxes - or the absence of them - are one of the big reasons why some online retailers can often beat out their brick-and-mortar counterparts that also sell online.
Simply put, many e-tailers do not collect taxes from their customers if they don’t have a presence in a state. This gives them an edge over operations that range from Wal-Mart to Target to Sak's Fifth Avenue.
This discrepancy is also one reason sites such as eBay and Amazon have thrived in the downturn, [...]
