Porn Spammers Penetrate SocNets, Power Down on Email
About 15% of Twitter traffic, 10% of MySpace traffic and 7% of Facebook traffic is porn spam, according to security expert Alexandru Catalin Cosoi of BitDefender, as quoted in The Globe and Mail.

Nearly Half of Employers Use SocNets to Probe Candidates
Nearly half (45%) of US employers use social networking sites to dig up information about job candidates, a significant jump from 22% last year, according to a survey commissioned by CareerBuilder, which also found that another 11% of employers have plans in the works to start using social networking sites for screening.

25% Boost in Visitors Makes Gmail a Top-3 US Email Provider
New comScore figures report Gmail, the web mail service provided by Google, is now the third-largest in the US.
In July, it eclipsed AOL Email with 37 million unique visitors to the latter's 36.4 million. The second-most popular, Windows Live Hotmail, had 47 million visitors the same month.

Googlers Search More than MicroHoo Minions
New data from comScore reflects that Google doesn't just dominate the search market by a large margin; its users are also more loyal and more inclined to search in general than Yahoo and Microsoft searchers.
