Millions of Visitors Capsize 'Europeana' Digital Library
Last week the European Commission launched Europeana, a digital library of over two million documents, art, video and audio clips chronicling the continent's culture and history.

Babelgum, MusicNation Host Online Music Video Contest
With help from MusicNation, video streaming site Babelgum drew 205 participants to its first online music video competition.
Tasked with creating their own music videos, 40 semifinalists will appear in a Babelgum app for smartphones, expected to launch December. Babelgum will also debut smartphone-ready channels designed that run short videos aimed at young audiences.

Junk Food Ad Spend Down, but Moving Across UK Media

ANN Snaps Up Russia's Largest Mobile Phone Retailer
Investment firm ANN of Alexander Mamut has acquired Euroset, currently the largest mobile handset retailer in Russia. The company's new parent also owns a large stake in SUP, which purchased LiveJournal from Six Apart in December 2007.

CNN Releases Cross-Platform Audience Data
CNN International has conducted a survey on cross-platform audience behavior. The Guardian says it is the first European media owner to have done so.

Yahoo Revamps its UK Ad Network, Claims 80% Coverage
Today Yahoo relaunched and rebranded its ad network. The freshly-monikered Yahoo Network purportedly now reaches 80 percent of users in the United Kingdom and Ireland, courtesy of a strategic set of new advertising partners, writes The Guardian.
