To narrow down your selection of articles, click on the "AND" or "NOT" next to any of the categories below. Say you’re currently browsing entries in category "A", you can then drill down into entries that belong both to category A and another category, or belong to category A but not another category. For instance, you could list entries about demographics in the automotive sector, or entries about email marketing that are not about spam. Numbers in the columns below indicate how many entries the selected operation will narrow your query to. You can combine multiple intersection and exclusion criteria to further limit the number of entries.

Just What Is A "NewFront?" And Should Brands Be Interested?

It would have been fun to see cranky interviewer Piers Morgan meeting Mashable Editor Adam Ostrow, or to see if Tom Hanks and a Yahoo! executive have anything in common. (They do.) This was Digital Content NewFronts, a two-week event in New York that wraps next week, and which brings together brands, marketers, distributors, and talent to explore (and sell) digital content and media opportunities. These are much like the TV upfronts, but instead the “networks” included AOL, Google/YouTube, H  [...]

Sponsors Line Up for Popular Apps

Mobile apps, in some cases, are proving to be money-makers for developers and publishers, thanks to advertisers' increasing willingness to sponsor their development and rollout. Not every app that comes to market attracts sponsors - or many viewers for that matter. The apps that have the best appeal to both groups are those that either entice with special deals, such as coupons, or constantly update content, such as a news site. WOM Stars in Hollywood; Plays Leading Roles Elsewhere

Movie studios and music houses are tapping social media not only to generate digital word-of-mouth (WOM) appeal - a strategy first deployed to great success with the Blair Witch Project more than 10 years ago - but also to listen to fans' judgments of film and music and make decisions based on them.  Though Hollywood has always intuitively understood the power of WOM marketing, such buzz usually paled in comparison to the publicity generated by mammoth-sized advertising a  [...]
