PS3 Sales Double After Sony Cuts Cost

Sales of the Playstation 3 doubled, following a pricecut of $100. On October 8, Sony introduced a lower-priced model in the US. Sony sold over 100,000 consoles in the week ending November 11-- from 30,000 to 40,000 sold before the cut.
