Microsoft Earnings Cap Promising Week
Microsoft capped off a busy week on Friday with its pleasantly surprising quarterly earnings report. Quarterly revenues were $12.92 billion - a 14% decline from this point last year. Net income was $3.57 billion, or 40 cents per share.

Microsoft Gains Slightly in Search Wars
They're still David to Goliath, but Microsoft's Bing saw a slight increase in its share of the search market from 8% to 9.3%.

Facebook Returns to Old Terms of Use

NYT Scores Cash Infusion from One of World’s Wealthiest
Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helu is investing $250 million in The New York Times Co., the company said in a statement Monday.

Flash Now Search Engine Friendly, Adobe Says
With the launch of a Flash-reading tool from Adobe, marketers can factor Flash into their SEO efforts, instead of compensating for the presence of Flash with extra text.
Adobe, the creator of Flash Player, developed a product that interprets Flash applications for web crawlers, making it possible to index that data for searchers. The technology was released to Google and Yahoo.

Yahoo Outpaces Google in Spending and Clicks
A study by RBC Capital show Yahoo outdoes Google in a number of categories, reports Reuters.

Yahoo: $8.8B in Revenue by 2010
Yahoo has publicized company projections of $8.8 billion in ad revenue by 2010, reports The Associated Press.
2008 revenue is expected to reach $5.7 billion, then grow by 25 percent in 2009 and 2010. If revenue does hit $8.8 billion in the next two to three years, it would constitute a 70 percent increase over 2007 before advertising commissions are paid.

AOL Absorbs Top UK Social Network Bebo
AOL has purchased social networking site Bebo for $850 million in cash.

Study Rebuts comScore: Google Paid Clicks Up 47%
A new report shines a vastly different light on Google's recent performance than the comScore report that caused stocks to drop and hands to be wrung, reports Mediaweek.
The SearchIgnite report reflects a 40 percent rise in ad revenue, with paid clicks up 45.7 percent. Those numbers come from a survey of 800 million impressions and 53 million clicks logged by Searchignite clients.
