Cars.com Searches Hit Record High

Car searches on cars.com hit a record high in March - exceeding 8.3 million unique visitors - according to the site's most recent Consumer Search Index report. The growth is attributed to Cars.com's national cable TV advertising campaign, which launched last month, contributed to the rise in site traffic, driving buyers to the site to conduct the research process. The list of largest month-over-month increases for new vehicles was topped by Dodge Caliber (229 percent).

Caliber was followed by the Toyota FJ Cruiser (145 percent), Saturn Sky (134 percent), Hyundai Azera (99 percent) and Toyota Camry (92 percent).

The models with the most searches on Cars.com were Honda Civic and Honda Accord, which also topped the list of cars yielding the most dealer email inquiries. Other top searches were Toyota Camry, in third place, followed by Toyota RAV4 and Ford Mustang.

The Cars.com Consumer Search Index offers a look at the internet search behavior of cars.com visitors, based off a minimum of 4,000 searches for any given vehicle. Dealer inquiries measure the volume of emails consumers send to dealers seeking information about a vehicle.
