Caribou Accepts Coupons That Starbucks Nixed

Caribou Coffee is taking advantage of Starbuck's email-promo snafu last week: It will honor the coupon that Starbucks emailed to employees and told them to share with friends - but then pulled when it went viral.

On Friday, Sept. 8, between noon and the close of business, customers who bring in the now void Starbucks coupon to a Caribou store will receive a free medium cold press iced coffee, iced americano or iced tea, The Denver Post reports (via MediaBuyerPlanner). Caribou will also provide a free-drink offer to its email subscribers. Coupon holders are allowed to claim one drink Friday while supplies last.

Starbucks stopped accepting the vouchers last Wednesday morning, claiming they had been altered and were distributed far beyond the company's original intent.
