Internet Retailer: How the web gives car buyers everything but a test drive
It was at a hockey game that a marketing executive from a local car dealership got the idea of installing web cams on the lot. After investigating a user-controlled camera at the rink, Dean Rose of Bill Marsh Automotive Group found that when he installed a few at the dealership, people not only used them, but began picking out the cars they wanted to buy. With that see-it-right-there effect, they even started buying online. Today, every fifteenth car sold is a web sale.
