A new report finds that almost 50 cents of every dollar in Canadian telecom now comes from a mobile or internet service.
Landlines pulled in a sluggish 27 percent of revenue ($9.75 billion) in a record $36.1 billion for telecom last year.
Wireless subscriptions grew by 10 percent, with revenue rising over 15 percent, with data features and new cell phone features pushing the trend healthily forward.
Approximately two-thirds of Canadian homes have at least one mobile line, and other industry estimates set the mobile penetration bar at 58 percent of the population - still a ways behind the US, Europe and Asia.
The country is said to lead in broadband adoption, however.
