Statistics Canada reported that Canadian companies grew online sales by 50 percent in 2004, although the amount (C$28.3 billion) remains disproportionately small relative to other developed countries. Only one in 14 Canadian firms sells online, a figure that remains unchanged in the last year. Most e-commerce in Canada is in the business-to-business sector, accounting for 75 percent of online sales.
