CAN Scores Fresh Options (Media Group, that is) for '08


Customer Acquisition Network (CAN), a multi-channel online network, has announced its intention to acquire Options Newsletters Inc. The purchase includes Options Media Group, a Florida-based email marketing and delivery purveyor.

The deal consists of cash and private stocks. It is expected to finalize in January '08.

Options Media Group builds custom email delivery offerings for companies with large customer lists. It supports 100 email marketing firms, corporate brand advertisers and agencies.

For its part, Customer Acquisition Network is perhaps best known for its ad network, interCLICK. It serves about four billion ads per month to about 82 million unique US visitors, and is considered the fastest growing ad network by comScore (according to CAN).

Options Media Group's email capabilities are expected to improve the interCLICK offering.

"We plan to integrate Options Media Group's Data Management business into our ad network business immediately," CEO Michael Mathews of CAN hastens to explain, "as well as continue acquiring and integrating platform networks that build on our vision of offering advertisers the first integrated, multi-channel network."
