A new tech firm hopes to ride the success of online video sharing by launching an inexpensive digital camcorder for older folks who aren't quite so tech savvy, reports CNN Money.
The company, Pure Digital, responsible for a line of "disposable" digital cameras sold at drugstores, has launched the Flip Video camcorder this week. Available at Target, Costco, and Bestbuy, it comes with a USB "arm" to hook onto PCs or Macs.
"The user-generated content mainly comes from webcams, cell phones and digital still cameras. There is no simple, affordable device to capture video so we decided to address that," said CEO Jonathon Kaplan.
The camcorder comes with a software onboard that makes it pain-free to shoot and upload on video sharing sites.
