Calendar, Docs, and other gadgets can now be added directly onto Gmail's interface, Google announced.
To do so, visit Gmail > Settings > Labs and turn on the "Google Calendar gadget" and/or the "Google Docs gadget." This adds them to the left-side navigation of the Gmail screen. Items can be rearranged by turning on the "Navbar drag and drop" option.
Google Reader also added subscription statistics to help readers visualize how news in their feeds is consumed. Publishing trends — the date and time stories are published — are also available, based on time of day, day of week (see chart below) and over the last 30 days.
There is also information on the number of subscribers for each blog or news site.
In Jan. '07, Google launched Trends for Reader, which sorts RSS subscriptions by various criteria and shows which blogs are read the most and least. For the latter, users can make use of a handy "Unsubscribe" icon.
