Durham, NC-based email marketing software provider Bronto has incorporated access to services from Akamai Technologies into its web-based application, the company announced this week. Akamai accelerates online content and business processes via its worldwide network of more than 18,000 servers, which are situated closer to end-users and therefore quickly deliver content. Because the bulk of email messages from various providers are typically read during certain peak periods each day, content delivery is slowed down and so affects the overall effectiveness of email marketing messages.

"Tapping Akamai enables fast, reliable image and file delivery to our customers and their clients as well as taking email marketing to new levels of innovation and dependability," Bronto Software CEO Joe Colopy said in a statement.
