The number of U.K. users connecting to the internet via broadband has surpassed those using dial-up, according to new figures released by BT Group, reports NetImperative. The U.K. now has more than 7.4 million broadband customers, including 1.7 million using BT's broadband services, 3.7 million using rival ISPs, and 2 million cable customers from NTL and Telewest. Broadband connections are now available to 99.6 percent of the population, according to BT.
