British Music Lovers: 'Down with DRM!'

Digital music lovers in the UK are frustrated with restrictions on music tracks they've purchased from music stores online, reports BBC News. The findings come from user input collected by PC Pro Magazine.

At the center of the debate is DRM music that limits the replication of a file after it is purchased.

One music fan, Paul Brindley, noted that digital music doesn't have the same value as a CD because it lacks a physical nature, while others lamented that errors in music stores forced them to buy the same track twice.

Legal downloads only account for two percent of the market, so most people have yet to realize that when they buy an iPod or other digital music player, the tracks they purchase are typically tethered to that system.
