Major agency Starcom reported that it found U.K. advertisers now spend more than one out of every 30 dollars on the internet. Increasing 52 percent from 2003, 2004 online revenues amounted to 3.4 percent of the country's total. About a third of that came from paid search, and that proved the fastest-growing channel. Online ads accounted for £507 million in 2004. The growth comes as British broadband penetration increased 81 percent in six months, now accounting for almost half of all connections.
