'Schizophrenic' isn't
quite the word
BrightQube, an online destination for royalty-free stock photo images, has added search tips and new navigational features to its website.
Photo delivery is powered by Dynamic Mosaic, a patent-pending technology built on Adobe's ActionScript 3.0 (the programming engine for Flash). It delivers all search results for stock photos within seconds, then displays them on the front page in an interactive landscape.
"It's the online digital equivalent of a light table, a common industry viewing tool used by photographers and image buyers for years," said Lee Corkran, the company's president and CEO.
BrightQube aggregates images from over 40 online collections, including Eyecandy, Juice Images, Ojo Images, plus select stock from Corbis, Getty Images (Stockbyte and Digital Vision), Jupiter Images' Bananastock, Comstock and Thinkstock, and microstock provider Dreamstime. Overall, there are about three million stock photos in its database.
To aid users in search, BrightQube introduced "Tool Tips," orange pop-ups that provide explanations of the site's features. Buyers can also move and filter findings, and zoom in or pan out from search results.
