Power in numbers
Swollen with aspirations to expand its industry clout, online video system Brightcove has formed the Brightcove Alliance.
The Alliance is a worldwide network of technology and distribution partners that have integrated Brightcove's video platform. AOL, for example, passed its online video management responsibilities to Brightcove in October. Its goal is to provide video distributors with access to a wider array of patners, "pre-integrated technologies" and scalable campaign services.
Brightcove Alliance went live with over 90 partners spanning ad networks, interactive design, analytics and social media. Glam Media, Doubleclick, Six Apart, Nielsen and comScore are among those named. Rich media technology provider CheckM8 announced its inclusion in the program earlier today.
In October Brightcove launched Brightcove 3, an update to its existing online video platform that boasts an array of open applications. The company plans to launch certification programs, and channel reseller options, for partners in 2009, reports MediaPost.
