Brazil to Get 14th Domain Root Server

The Age: Brazil to Host Root Name Server

While 10 of the existing 13 domain name root servers reside in the Americas, until now none were located in the southern hemisphere. Brazil will get the world's 14th DNS root server, in hopes of speeding up transmission time. (It's about time.) The remaining three servers are found in Asia and Europe.
