Bravo, PlanetOut Launch New Broadband Channel

The Bravo network is joining with PlanetOut Inc. to start a new broadband channel on the web aimed specifically at gays and lesbians, the New York Times reports (via MediaBuyerPlanner). The site, called OutZonetv.com, will include streaming video content in the form of shows of up to half an hour. Josh Bernoff, a media analyst at Forrester Research, called the PlanetOut alliance a low-risk venture that would allow Bravo to sell niche advertising in a way that could not be done on television.
