Brand+1 Protects Self-Conscious Brands from 'Inappropriate' Longtail Content

Protecting dinosaurs from the
unpredictability of new media

Predictive marketing firm [x+1] launched Brand+1, a service that protects brands from appearing on questionable "longtail" sites, including inappropriate blogs and other user-generated content destinations.

"Marketers spend years building their brand recognition and reputation … but simple media mistakes can bruise even the biggest of brands," preached Chief Strategy Officer Ted Shergalis.

"We created Brand+1 to offer brand-conscious marketers the safety net of a defined universe of qualified sites. […] By screening safe from unsafe longtail content, [Brand+1] guarantees that ads will run only on the right sites, reaching the right people, to ensure success."

Brand+1 operates on [x+1]'s "Predictive Optimization Engine," which analyzes over 20,000 high-traffic online properties and compiles a list of sites thought to be "safe" or "unsafe" for a given ad campaign. The platform also enables media buyers to conduct ad buys across publishers, ad networks and a number of ad exchanges.
