Although prospective bidders of Aegis are reportedly waiting on the sidelines and corporate raider Vincent Bollore continues to up his stake in the U.K.-based independent media agency, no material offer has yet been made to acquire it, reports MediaPost (via MediaBuyerPlanner).
According to reports in several French dailies, the Aegis board, which met yesterday, is now resolved to selling the company rather than remain independent. Publicis Groupe and WPP Groupe are reportedly still interested in a bid to acquire Aegis, but Omnicom - the only other logical player in the process - has been silent.
Bollore's stake in Aegis is now at 15.43 percent.
