A new service from blog search engine Blogdigger launched this week locates bloggers - and only bloggers - by geographic location in the U.S. by city or ZIP code, writes Search Engine Watch. Blogdigger queries have two parts: the search terms and a location. Search results are sorted by relevance (or date), with probable hits within a 20-mile radius (or 5, 10 or 100 miles) of the specified location. A sidebar shows a map of the city with a list of other blogs in the area. Blogdigger has information about blogs in more than 50,000 U.S. cities. Its media search looks for audio, video, images and BitTorrent streams posted on blogs.
