Blockbuster, hoping to leverage its enormous retail and brand presences to come from behind in the remote movie rental market - addressing competitors like Tivo and Netflix - partnered with online file sharing firm Napster to offer a music and movie gift card. Radio Shack will be selling the $20 cards that include two music track downloads and a month of free movie rentals through Blockbuster's new DVD-by-mail product. The offer itself isn't much of a discount off of what customers would normally pay, but it signifies an alignment of interests that could produce more interesting online-oriented rental products in the future.
