CNET: Blinkx debuts new search technology
Blinkx, a search engine development effort reported earlier finally launched its application that learns - through user behavior and hard drive content - what sorts of searches might be useful, even before a user decides to conduct a search. The program constantly monitors what's on the screen and suggests what might be useful searches and information tidbits.
The tool, downloadable here works only on modern Windows environments and digests data from Microsoft Office programs and a few others, such as PDF documents and some video and audio formats.
