Search provider blinkx has launched a service that helps users find video content online and then watch it on an iPod or other portable media player, reports Red Herring. The blinkx.tv To Go service will search for online video, the blinkx software will format the footage for the user's device type, then the video will be uploaded to the device. Users can save the search term as a "channel" that blinkx can automatically update and feed to the device when it's connected to a computer.
"We wanted to make the experience of finding compelling multimedia and making it portable as efficient and easy as possible," said blinkx CTO Suranga Chandratillake.
