Search engine Blinkx has partnered with news producer ITN (U.K.), in the process creating a new broadband TV platform for media brands, reports NetImperative. The DirectPlay solution lets content owners broadcast and monetize video using an internet protocol TV (IPTV) platform powered by Blinkx but branded as their own. Rich media advertising firm Eyeblaster will insert ads into all searchable ITN content; Blinkx and ITN would share in the ad revenue.
