Black Friday Hits Maple Story, a Virtual World

Imagine waiting in a virtual
line

While many have already fallen in line at their local Wal-Mart, citizens of the massively multiplayer online game Maple Story are preparing for the virtual world's first Black Friday.

Maple Story's profits primarily come through the sale of virtual goods.

Sales will run throughout the weekend in two to three-hour intervals. Though virtual, sale items come in limited quantities, so Maple is urging members to show up early, according to Joystiq.

Virtual goods are building real-world tangibility. Earlier this month, a teen was arrested from stealing virtual goods from fellow residents' of Habbo Hotel.
