Billboard is adding data from Yahoo and AOL's music sites to its Hot 100 chart, reports The New York Post.
The chart, largely accepted as an industry benchmark, has begun adding streams or plays of music or video from the two sites. Each offers free, ad-supported listening. More music portals will be added later on.
Streams join radio plays and purchased digital downloads in the chart's calculation. The chart gives 55 percent of the weighting to radio airplay, 40 percent to downloads and now five percent to streams.
