Bezos: Google's Just Fine

SearchEngineLowdown: Web 2.0 - Amazon's A9 Committed to Google?

SearchEngineLowdown's Andy Beal cornered Amazon.com's Jeff Bezos over a cocktail in San Francisco yesterday and snuck in a few questions over a drink. Two interesting tidbits came out. The e-commerce giant seems quite happy with Google as a provider of results for the A9 search engine. And we finally have closure on the odd A9 pornography blooper from last month. It turns out that A9 uses the filters available to everyone on Google for straining out inappropriate images, but their computers had been inadvertently set to a PG rating. They've since been scolded and sent back to the G-rated filter.

In his talk at the proper Web 2.0 event, Bezos seemed to indicate that Amazon would not be interested in selling or licensing its "one-click" patent. Bezos demurred when asked if he'd considered it before, telling the audience that he couldn't think of how to price it.
